In the fitness of things

For Shiv Pandit, who made his big screen debut with “Shaitan”, good health is supreme
To remain fit one has to stay active. It's not just about going to the gym all the time, but being active and at peace with yourself is important. The body is a machine and it needs to be fine tuned. The best way is to exercise regularly and eat healthy.
I am an adrenaline junkie. I love adventure sports. Be it bungee jumping, rafting, paragliding, I've tried them all. So for me, staying in shape is very important. For that, I work out daily in the gym and I also play a lot of sports. I keep trying out and mixing various work-out routines. Recently I was doing something called ‘cross fit' which is a strength and conditioning programme, usually followed by professional athletes and police and military personnel. It is a combination of gymnastics, weightlifting and strength training. In fact, I enjoy working out. My day is not complete till I have exercised for some time.
Apart from exercising regularly, it is also necessary to eat healthy. The Indian food is big on oil and spices which isn't very conducive for a healthy lifestyle. There was a time when I used to suffer from gastro-intestinal problems. But now I follow the ‘blood type diet' and it has helped a lot.
According to this diet one should eat according to his/her blood type. My blood type is A+ and I eat accordingly. For example, people with my blood type should avoid meat, mutton especially, and since I've started doing that I feel a lot better. But it is not necessary that one follows a particular diet or does certain kind of exercises. If you are generally active and eat right then it is enough.
Feeling fit, staying healthy and to be in shape is important to me, and I think it is important for most of us. When you are healthy and in shape, then you automatically look and feel good which is a great confidence booster.
