Cilarapu Damodar Raja Narasimha was born on december 5th 1958 to Rajanarsimha and Janabai in Medak district of Andhra Pradesh.He is an Engineer by profession. He comes from political family background.His father Mr.Cilarapu Raja Narasimha was a three time Congress MLA who represented Andole constituency in 1967,1972,1978 consecutively.
Damodar Rajanarasimha belongs to the Scheduled caste (Hindu religion) and had contested first time in 1989 as an MLA from the ANDOL(SC) constituency of the Medak district which he won defeating TDP candidate Malyala Rajaiah. However he lost the elections in 1994, 1998(by-election) and also in 1999.
In 1994 he lost to his nearest TDP candidate Malyala Rajaiah and in 1999 Damodar Raja Narasimha lost to TDP candidate P. Babu Mohan(Comedian and Actor).
However he got elected from the Andhol constituency as a Congress candidate in 2004 defeating TDP candidate P.Babu Mohan (also a cine actor) and was made the primary education minister in the YS Rajasekhar reddy's cabinet. After he won elections in 2009 from the same constituency he was made Minister for Marketing and Warehousing in the YSR's cabinet and continued the same in the Rosaiah's cabinet also. Damaodar is known for his calm nature and as a non controversial person.
He was unofficially declared as the Deputy Chief Minister of A.P ON 28th Nov 2010 and most likely will be sworn in Deputy CM on 1st December 2010.
By making Damodar Raja Narasimha as the Deputy CM,the Congress high command want's to appease both the telangana people in general and SCs in particular.
He was also SC finance corporation chairman.He was married to Padmini and has a daughter.
