Healthy options for the wealthy

Wellness centres in the city are offering more than one service under one roof
Wellness, it appears, is taking a whole new turn in the city. In order to relieve customers from the trouble of driving long distances and finding a spot to park, many wellness centres are coming up with properties that offer varied services like gyms, salons, spas, Indian and international therapies and yoga.
Sparrc Institute (SI), however, is a little different. Touted as the first sports fitness medicine centre for holistic pain management, SI offers a range of treatments from neck and shoulder care to personalised exercise programmes. The institute has specialised treatments for people suffering from pain and also offers fitness solutions through dance, martial arts and more.
And guess who's making the best of these facilities. Kitty-party groups. To break free from the routine games and buffet lunches, kitty groups are converging at wellness centres. The comprehensive services that these centres boast of works out well for women who are constantly looking for something new to do. “The idea of a kitty group is to spend time together and wellness centres seem to be a good bet,” says Dhruv Kapur, Manager Marketing at Soul. “They get to spend time with others and also get to pamper themselves.”
Soul opened recently in the city and offers a range of services that includes Thai massages et al. They also offer kick boxing sessions for groups and individuals to unwind and de-stress. There's also a cafeteria which caters to the health-conscious, and kitty groups are making the best use of Soul. “They love doing their facials and massages in groups, and when it comes to eating they have a choice of healthy stuff which tastes good,” adds Dhruv.
Aura at The Park offers different packages for different groups. “We plan salon sessions, for instance, where the groups can spend maximum time together,” says Dr. Harish Kalathil, Director- Aura, The Park Hyderabad. “We also assess their lifestyles and design plans accordingly.”
Aura at The Park offers weight training sessions with specialised equipment. This includes the Kinesis, which is a multiple-function system built in one unit. Dr. Harish adds, “We also have a special food menu for groups — Spa party and Spa feasts.” The spa and salon treatments are popular with women's groups.
Ellaa Suites is another all-in-one wellness stop, with a unit from Ananda spa, a salon, and a yoga facility as well. Regulars swear by the chocolate-wrap treatment, which is popular with women of all age groups. The next time you plan a get-together and still want to keep counting the calories, you have more than restaurants and clubs at your service.
